Summary of Q1 2024 financial reports of famous apparel and sportswear companies

NIKE, Inc. announced its third quarter results ending February 29, 2024. Quarterly revenue was $12.429 billion, compared with $12.39 billion in the same period last year. Quarterly net profit was $1.172 billion, compared with $1.24 billion in the same period last year. Among them, Greater China's revenue was $3.138 billion, compared with $3.246 billion in the same period last year.

Adidas released its first quarter financial report for 2024, with performance exceeding expectations. Global revenue reached 5.458 billion euros (about 5.855 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 8% year-on-year under currency neutrality; net profit attributable to the parent company was 170 million euros, turning losses into profits. Among them, revenue in Greater China reached 897 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%, which has achieved growth for four consecutive quarters since the second quarter of last year.

German sports brand PUMA released its first quarter results for 2024. Quarterly sales were 2.102 billion euros (about 2.254 billion U.S. dollars), compared with 2.188 billion euros in the same period last year. Quarterly EBIT profit was 159 million euros, compared with 176 million euros in the same period last year. Quarterly net profit was 87.3 million euros, compared with 117 million euros in the same period last year.

SKECHERS, an American sports and leisure brand, announced its first quarter results for 2024. Quarterly sales were $2.252 billion, compared with $2.002 billion in the same period last year. Quarterly net profit attributable to the company was $207 million, compared with $160 million in the same period last year.

Canadian sports brand Lululemon Athletica Inc. announced its first quarter results ending April 28, 2024. Quarterly net revenue was $2.209 billion, compared with $2 billion in the same period last year. Quarterly net profit was $321 million, compared with $290 million in the same period last year.

Under Armour, an American sports brand, announced its fourth quarter and full-year results ending March 31, 2024. Net revenue in the fourth quarter was $1.332 billion, compared with $1.399 billion in the same period last year. Quarterly net profit was $6.57 million, compared with $171 million in the same period last year. Full-year net revenue was $5.702 billion, compared with $5.903 billion in the previous year. Full-year net profit was $232 million, compared with $374 million in the previous year.

Amer Sports, a sports and outdoor brand group, released its first quarter results for 2024. In the first quarter, revenue was $1.183 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13%; net profit attributable to shareholders was $5.1 million, a year-on-year decrease of more than 70%. In the first quarter, apparel business revenue increased by 44% year-on-year to $510 million; outdoor product business revenue increased by 6% to $400 million; racket and ball business revenue decreased by 14% to $273 million in the first quarter.

ASICS released its first quarter results for 2024. Quarterly net sales were 174.1 billion yen (about 1.092 billion U.S. dollars), compared with 152.3 billion yen in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 14.3%. Quarterly operating profit was 33.812 billion yen, compared with 22.12 billion yen in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 52.9%. Quarterly net profit attributable to the parent company's owners was 26.737 billion yen, compared with 16.31 billion yen in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 63.9%.

Sportswear retailer Dick's Sporting Goods announced its first quarter results ending May 4, 2024. Quarterly net sales were $3.018 billion, compared with $2.842 billion in the same period last year. Quarterly net profit was $275 million, compared with $305 million in the same period last year.
